This project focused on improving an existing backyard patio to allow for three-season use. The existing patio was framed by the house, an established vine maple, and a rockery herb garden.
The new wood structure creates a large sheltered space for entertaining or quiet relaxation. Polycarbonate panels were used for the roof to provide full coverage and amplify available daylight, making the space vibrant even on a cloudy day. The shelter was raised above the existing roof line to maintain easy access to the gutters.
The owners constructed the shelter themselves, and built the trestle table to match.
