The current position offering is for a Mid-to-Senior Level Architect with more than 15 years of experience. Qualified candidates should present at least five years’ experience each in both custom homes and a variety of non-residential projects, as well as a passion for sustainability. Mastery of AutoCAD 2014 or higher is required, proficiency in Sketchup and the Adobe Creative Suite is preferred. Also of interest is knowledge of alternative construction methods; Passive House, Living Building, or LEED BD+C accreditation; and construction experience.

An ideal candidate will be an organized, self-proficient strategic thinker that is able to manage multiple projects and tasks. The position will contribute to all phases of design and project management, including program development, planning, design and documentation, team coordination, assembling construction documents, and construction phase services. Responsibilities will include establishing and managing project budgets, fostering vibrant client and contractor relationships, mentoring junior staff, and providing solid quality control on all projects.

Living Shelter’s home office is located on the bus line in Old Town Issaquah, nestled into the forested hills along the I-90 corridor and an easy 15 miles east of Seattle.
