Sustainable building is getting a foothold in Yakima! For this new home, energy efficiency was a major goal and a geothermal field provides all the home’s heating and cooling needs. Local, natural, and healthy materials were used throughout. Native landscaping and shaded windows work with nature; Lower and main level walls are 12″ thick Faswall insulated blocks and the airlock entry helps isolate harsh temperatures.
Living Shelter now leads the growing sustainability team at Board & Vellum! To learn more about this project, please visit our new portfolio project page.
